Alabar is excited to announce it’s roster and service fees for the 2024/25 breeding season.
Our roster will be bolstered this season by the addition of Tactical Approach – the reigning US Trotter of the Year.
Acknowledging the financial pressures faced by breeders, Alabar has reduced many of our service fees. This decision underscores Alabar’s commitment to supporting breeders during these conservative economic times.
By lowering these service fees, Alabar aims to alleviate some of the financial pressures faced by breeders, ensuring that they can continue to access high-quality stallions at affordable fees.
“Without breeders, we don’t have a business. We are here for the breeders, just as they are here for us,” stated Alabar’s owner Alan Galloway.
“Our roster is a tremendous mix of proven stallions and exciting young stallions who have their entire future ahead of them,” Galloway continued.
Heading the roster is Art Major who not only continues to sire good horses, but he is in fact siring some of the best horses of his career. There is no better example than Merlin.
Tactical Approach is the first horse since Muscle Hill to win the Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown in the same season.
His service fee has been set at $9,000 plus GST, with discounts available for multiple mares.
This is the first time ever that a reigning US Trotter of the Year has shuttled to Australia, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Majestic Son just continues to win Siring Premierships in the Southern Hemisphere. He is up to 8 consecutive premierships in Australia and 6 in New Zealand.
His daughters are now also doing it as broodmares as well and he will soon be a Leading Broodmare Sire as well.
Captain Crunch has started off his career in sensational fashion. A Breeders Crown winner came from his first crop in America, while in the Southern Hemisphere he has already sired 11 two year old winners, including 6 stakes horses.
Rock N Roll Heaven has established himself as one of the leading stallions and the argument could be easily made that he is the best value stallion standing in Australia. Where else can you access a stallion for $6,600 (incl GST), less multiple mare discounts, that has an average earnings per starter of over $60,000?
Pebble Beach debuted last season and served a full book of mares in Australia. Amongst those mares included Group 1 winners like Miss Graceland, Good Lookin Girl, Royal Story, Cool Adda and the dams of horse of the ilk of Ignatius, The Pantheist, Beyond Delight, Major Martini, etc.
Always B Miki is now firmly entrenched amongst the leading stallions of the world. In the Southern Hemisphere he continues to sire elite level performers like the Queen Elizabeth II Mile winner Aardies Express, Diamond Creek Classic winner Rubira, as well as the fastest 2YO in Australia this season Always Hot 1:53.2.
Vincent’s offspring continue to perform well which sees him sitting currently 5th on the Australian 3YO Pacing Sires Premiership. He has sired 10 stakes winners in his career to date.
The Storm Inside’s oldest progeny are just two year olds and he has made an impressive start with 5 winners including Storms Collide 1:56.9 (2nd Nutrien Classic) and I Am The Storm 1:55.
Ride High is a horse we have a huge amount of faith in and that faith is close to being realised. With his oldest progeny now yearlings, they are very much impressing the trainers as they begin their racetrack journey.
A beautiful gait, brains and manners are three things we are hearing over and over again.
Elite Stride is also a stallion whose oldest progeny are yearlings. They sold exceptionally well at the 2024 yearling sales, making up to $42,500 – over 14 times his service fee.
His progeny are also impressing with multiple trainers telling us that their Elite Stride is the best trotter they have broken in this year.
Lazarus will again stand at Nevele R Stud and will be offered in New Zealand only.
He is already the sire of 15 $100,000+ winners in North America and the exciting Group 1 winner Nathan Street in the Southern Hemisphere.
Our roster is rounded out with Ultimate Machete and Ultimate Sniper who will stand at Cobbitty Equine Farm (NSW) and Allwood Stud (WA).
