Son of Lazarus wins Bluegrass Stakes division

Handlelikeaporsche dominated his rivals in the $109,000 division of the Bluegrass Stakes at the Red Mile.

After taking the lead in the second quarter, the son of Lazarus powered home in 26.8 to win by over eight lengths!

The time was 1:50.4, which is the fastest of his career to date.

Importantly to note is this was his first start out of New Jersey and the margin of victory just indicates the strength of the opposition he had been racing previously.

Handlelikeaporsche was a $100,000 yearling purchase by trainer Chris Ryder at the Harrisburg yearling sale.

He is the first foal of the American Ideal mare The Signature, who in turn is out of a Grinfromeartoear mare.

Lazrus has made a terrific start to his stallion career. Two thirds of his two year olds have started, with 23 winners.

He currently sits seventh on the North American Two Year Old Sires Premiership despite having the least amount of foals of any stallion in the top ten of the premiership.
