Merlin scored the biggest win of his career at Addington on Friday night when he took out the $200,000 NZB Standardbred Harness Million 2YO C&G Final.
The son of Art Major worked forward off the gate and found the front early and from that point on he was never headed.
Sprinting home in 26.5, Merlin defeated the previously undefeated Don’t Stop Dreaming by half a length.
Merlin began his career on February 3rd and he is now undefeated in 8 starts and has banked $195,700 for his owner Montana Park Pty Ltd.
Bred by Taffy Limited, Merlin is the fourth foal of the Bettor’s Delight mare Imaginary Bet. He is very well bred with his third dam being the blue hen Scuse Me.
His looks matched his pedigree as he sold for $120,000.
Art Major continues to sire top class juveniles and he is currently the leading two year old sire in New Zealand.
