The progeny of Alabar stallions featured prominently amongst the award winners announced by Harness Racing Australia last week.
Fate Awaits, the electrifying two-year-old pacing colt, had dazzled on the track, capturing the prestigious Protostar and NSW Breeders Challenge Final. His sire, Always B Miki, had passed down not only speed but an indomitable will to win.
Bred by Phil and Denise Thurston, Fate Awaits will now look to add the NSW Derby to his CV on Saturday night.
Across the divisions, another progeny of Always B Miki had cemented her dominance—Aardies Express (pictured above), the Australian Aged Pacing Mare of the Year.
Her shining performance was the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, where she sat three wide and still won. Bred by Bromac Lodge and Slingsby Holdings, Aardies Express was the embodiment of speed and stamina.
In the trotting ranks, a new star had risen – Rainbow Jester was named Australian Two Year Old Trotting Colt of the Year.
Sired by Majestic Son, he captured the Nutrien Trot Final and the NSW Trot Final, solidifying his place among the elite. Bred by John and Sue Markham, Rainbow Jester was the richest two year old trotting colt last season.
