The Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale was a historic one for Alabar farms.
For the first time ever we sold the highest priced filly and the highest priced colt.
The Somebeachsomewhere filly out of Caitlyn Clarke stole the show selling for $160,000 to Danny Zavitsanos.
This made her the highest priced yearling filly sold in Australia this season and the equal highest priced yearling filly ever sold in Australia.
While the Art Major colt out of My Mackenzie sold to Rob Davis of RED Harness Racing for $150,000.
That price was the equal highest for a pacing colt in Australia this season.
The Always B Miki colt out of Red Hot Roxy was the subject of a spirited bidding duel between a number of Western Australians.
In the end Swandoo Harness Racing won out with a bid of $100,000.
Overall all 18 of the Alabar prepared yearlings sold for average of $52,722.❇️ Lot 222 sold! $100,000 on acc @Alabarfarms to Swandoo Harness Racing in Perth WA. Alabar, along with Norm Jenkin, also purchased the highest priced trotting colt for the second year running.
This year it was $100,000 for the stunning Father Patrick colt out of the Australia Two and Three Year Old Filly of the Year Shes An Image.
Consigned by Lang Bloodstock he is a powerful and correct colt with a beautiful and intelligent head.
