Ofortuna produced an outstanding effort to claim an Inter Dominion heat win at Ballarat on Saturday night.
The daughter of Majestic Son began brilliantly and was sit in behind the speed being set by Nephew Of Sonoko.
As the field came off the home bend the final time, Jodi Quinlan guided Ofortuna off the pegs and she finished off strongly to win.
Mufasa Metro finished second, while Majestic Harry (Majestic Son) flashed home to claim third.
Ofortuna, who was bred by Ash Haynes, C Shaw, E Payne, and B Payne, is by Majestic Son and out of the Wind Cries Maori mare Fortunate Phoenix.
She in turn is a half sister to four winners including the Group 1 winner Princess Phoenix.
The next round of Inter Dominion heats will be staged tomorrow night at Shepparton.
The progeny of Majestic Son have won of $2.69 million this season – over $1.7 million clear of his nearest rival.
