Sylvia Hanover produced only the type of performance she can to win the $700,000 Breeders Crown Final for three year old fillies.
After doing all the work in the breeze, the daughter of Always B Miki dug deep and just refused to lose, like she always does.
She hit the finishing line first, a neck in front of Charleston, with Always B Naughty (Always B Miki) closing hard for third.
There is not much for you can say about Sylvia Hanover, except that she has the fighting spirit that so few horses have.
The win was her 18th from 22 starts and takes her earnings to $1,742,675.
Always B Miki’s progeny have now won 7 Breeders Crown trophies – only Bettor’s Delight has sired as many amongst active stallions.
And Always B Miki is the quickest stallion in history to get to 7 Breeders Crown trophies.
I thought I loved Sylvia Hanover before—after that performance, it’s off the charts.
