The progeny of Always B Miki enjoyed a big weekend in Canada with 3 first class wins.
Christchurch wins North America elimination
The uber talented Christchurch put together a tough performance to win his North America Cup elimination in 1:48.8 over an impressive Voukefalas (Lazarus).
Christchurch, trained by Nancy Takter, moved first over in the third quarter and finished off strongly to win.
It was his second win in a row and fourth overall from nine starts.
Sylvia Hanover continues winning ways
Last season’s Dan Patch award winning filly Sylvia Hanover has continued on her winning ways as a three year old.
She is undefeated in two starts after a dominant 1:49.4 win in her Shes A Great Lady elimination.
She has now won 10 of her 11 starts and $931,800.
Grace Hill adds to big bank balance
Grace Hill improved her record to 23 wins from 50 starts for earnings of $1,312,630 with a win in an elimination of the Roses Are Red.
Coming home in 26.8, the daughter of Always B Miki won by over two lengths.
Last season’s Breeders Crown champion looks to have come back as a five year old even better as she is yet to taste defeat in four starts this season.
All three rich finals will be held at Woodbine Mohawk Park this Saturday night (Canadian time).
Broodmare Sires
It is worth noting that all three of the above horses all have different broodmare sires – Somebeachsomewhere (Christchurch), Artiscape (Sylvia Hanover) and Western Terror (Grace Hill).
