Alabar stallions enjoyed a successful night at the 2024 Harness Racing New Zealand awards last night.
On the pacing side, Merlin (Art Major) took out top honours being named Pacer Of The Year, along with 4YO Pacer of the Year.
His season was highlighted by wins in the Race By Grins and the New Zealand Free-For-All.
On the trotting side, Majestic Son was named Trotting Sire of the Year (along with Volstead).
For Majestic Son he again was the leading trotting sire for the seventh year.
It was fitting then that his daughter One More Moment was awarded the 5YO & Older Trotting Mare Of The Year.
Her highlight win came in the Group 1 Queen Of Diamonds Handicap Trot.
