He becomes the eighth millionaire pacer sired by Art Major in the Southern Hemisphere.
Don Hugo has that imposing front end look that has become synonymous with so many of the Stakes winning progeny of Art Major.
The handsome entire from an unraced Bettors Delight mare fetched $82,500 when sold at the 2021 Melbourne APG Yearling Sales by Queensland based breeder Adam Cahill.
His Dam is a half sister to Cyclone Kate 1.50.3 $341,722, whilst his granddam is a full sister to the little Champion Courage Under Fire 1.54.2.
Art Major currently sits in second position on the Australian Sires Premiership with seasons earnings of $7,697,000.
Meanwhile over in the West, the impressive siring son of Art Major in Vincent left his mark for the weekend at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
His daughter Reinette came from an impossible position at the 600 metres to snatch an exciting victory in the Group 1 $215,000 Westbred Classic Final for two year old Fillies.
From the six time winning Somebeachsomewhere mare Aqueensomewhere, Reinette brought up her fifth win this season in 10 starts.
She was a $15,000 purchase at the WA Yearling Sales in 2023 and with earnings now of $160,676 she is proving a real bargain buy for the Pinjarra hobby trainer Frank Nafranec and his family.
Reinette has some impressive females in her Family and none better than another Pinjarra trained female in Wonderful To Fly 1.53.6 $742,744 and the Champion WA mare of the 1970’s Daintys Daughter.
