The Storm Inside joins Alabar roster

We are thrilled to announce that The Storm Inside will stand his debut season at our Australian farm in 2020.

With a record of 16 wins from 19 starts, The Storm Inside is one of the most gifted pacers to have raced in Australia in recent times.

He was a truly brilliant juvenile – being the undefeated Australian Two-Year-Old of the Year – who then went on to break multiple track records as an older horse.

His trainer Emma Stewart has only glowing praise for him, “The Storm Inside is one our favourite horses of all time – and he has everything you’d look for in an individual with blistering natural high speed, beautifully gaited and a real athlete.”

At two he won all six of his starts including the Group 1 APG Final and the Group 2 Rod Fitzpatrick Memorial Pace. He took his season’s mark of 1:54.6 (last half in 56.5) in cruising to victory in his APG Heat.

He was regarded by many as Australia’s most exciting pacer as he went on to win his first 11 races in a row to be unbeaten as both a two and three-year-old.

As a four-year-old and older his dynamic speed continued to be on full display when smashing the track records at Ballarat (1:50.7 – last half in 54.6) and Swan Hill (1:52.4 – last half in 54.7).

In fact in his last five starts he recorded three sub 1:52 last miles and also the track record at Swan Hill.

“The Storm Inside is a horse that we have followed for some time,” said Alabar Australia General Manager Brett Coffey.

“He was a dominant two year old who won Australia’s richest two year old race with ease.”

“His rare level of speed is something that you don’t see often and he could sustain that speed which made it so impressive.”

“Of course his pedigree is also incredible. He is by the sire of sires Rocknroll Hanover out of the imported Artsplace mare Spirted Storm. She hails from The Golden Miss family which has produced the Group 1 siring stallions Rocknroll Hanover, Safely Kept, Grinfromeartoear and Panorama.”

The Storm Inside has both the pedigree and the performance of an outstanding stallion prospect.

He will stand for an introductory service fee of $2,500 (incl GST) in Australia and $2,500 (plus GST) in New Zealand.
