Miki’s day out at Ashburton

The progeny of Always B Miki enjoyed a day out at Ashburton on Monday.

Cold Chisel was again impressive when producing a tough effort to win his heat of the NZ Sires Stakes.

It came after a stirring battle with Vessem (Vincent), but Cold Chisel just got the better of his rival to win by a half neck in 1:54.8.

Aardie’s Express also won on the day, but it was hardly a battle.

After spending the first half of the race off the track, she powered to the front and sprinted away to win by almost 7 lengths in 1:52.6.

She has been a dominant filly/mare since she started racing and it’s hard to argue that she is not the best pacing mare in New Zealand right now.
