Impressive results at NZB Auckland sale

We were thrilled to conclude today’s NZB Standardbred Yearling Sale with 100% clearance and some truly excellent results across the board.

Topping the Alabar draft was Lot 46 (pictured above), a colt by Art Major from Group producer Flying Mrs Williams who was knocked down to All Stars Racing for $120,000.

Yearlings by our resident first season sire Captain Crunch were in hot demand, selling for up to $220,000 and averaged $70,417 from six lots sold.

The Captain Crunch colt from multiple Group 1 winner The Orange Agent (Lot 119), offered by Hollis & Robertson Equine Services, was the third highest-priced lot overall, selling for $220,000 to Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan.

The progeny of our young gun sire Always B Miki were also highly sought after. Stonewall Stud weren’t going home without the Always B Miki filly from Group winner Alchemist (Lot 7), forking out $115,000 to secure her from Alabar’s draft.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who bid on or bought an Alabar yearling – we wish you every success on the racetrack and will be following their careers with great interest!
