RIDING HIGH ON GROUP 1 WIN

First season sire Ride High has sired his first Group 1 winner with Ride The Highs dominating her rivals in the $150,000 QBred Triad Final at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Trained by Lisa Pitt and driven by her husband Mark, Ride The Highs took no prisoners as she led from the start and powered away to win by 14.6 metres in 1:53.1 – a new stakes record.

It was an extremely fitting win given that Mark Pitt drove Ride High to five of his victories including the Group 1 Breeders Crown Final.

Ride The Highs was bred by Rob Jones, who sold her dam Gleniss Mama in foal to Joanne Andersen and Dyanna Thommeny.

The pair raised her and then sold her at the APG Gold Coast sale for $20,000 to Mick Boots.

Gleniss Mama is by A Rocknroll Dance out of the Presidential Ball mare Pistol Packing Mama. Thus Ride The Highs carries a 4 x 3 to Presidential Ball.

For Ride High this is a significant milestone for his siring career. Right at this moment he is the Leading First Season sire in Australia and with two stakes winners, he is currently running at an incredible 15.4% stakes winners to starters.

Significantly only Bettor’s Delight, Ride High, Captain Crunch and Elite Stride have sired multiple stakes winning two year olds in Australia this season.

Ride High stands the 2025 season for $3,300 (incl GST) in Australia and $3,000 (plus GST) in New Zealand.
